Red and blue water hoses

I have a 2016 286RL 5th wheel Salem, Hemisphere. When I drained the low point white hose, behind the L rear wheel, was also going to drain the red and the blue hoses I found that neither one had a plug or a cap, they were both open, no way to get any water out. There must be something I don't know. HELP ME PLEASE. Thank Topkat

Is there a compartment above the hoses?

Might be a couple of valves one for each.

Just guessing the white hose might have been the fresh water tank drain and the Red & Blue hot & cold water low point drains as has been mentioned look to see if valves are in a compartment above.

There is no compartment above, they just go up thru the black under belly and are sealed up with a black putty looking material. I have taken the cover panel off where the water pump is but could not find any cut off valves around there. For the folks who have plugs or caps on theirs, when u open them up, does water come out? If so where is it coming from? Thanks for your help. Topkat

If you go inside of your unit to the area over where the hoses are is there a seat or bed or perhaps a cabinet?

The water comes from any water left in the lines and the hot water heater if you haven't drained it. Not sure why they are sealed with black putty. Should have thread on caps with cone shaped washers in them unless you do have in-line valves. I bought an extra set of caps and washers and keep them in the tool box in case I ever lose one.

You may even have to unscrew a panel to access these valves, which is not uncommon.

Take a look inside your unit immediately above where the red & blue exit the vehicle. There will be valves there somewhere.

Mine has caps on both those hoses, no valves, no easy access above. White hose is fresh water tank drain. You said 2016 - have you put water in the unit? Hooking to city water would show if lines are clear. Don't know why they would be sealed up.

My Flagstaff has the two caps just under the water heater door. When doing the winterizing, I cracked the hot water in the camper prior to removing the caps. This procedure pulls almost all of the water out of water heater. Also relieved any pressure in the system. Pulled the anode to be sure. Like having access to low point drains outside so I can monitor progress of the water removal.

I usually open all the faucets prior, makes for a faster more efficient drain.

Thanks for reply, I am not at where Rv is stored right now, however I believe the pantry is close to being over the top of where the hoses come out of belly. I have winterized it and water came out of the white hose and it has a close off valve on it. I drained all water out and left it open, but as I said the red and blue have no cap, no plugs, no threads, just open hoses which go thru the black under belly, beside the white hose and is sealed up all around all three hoses. I will go tomorrow and see if taking drawers out of the pantry will expose the hoses or cut off valves. Why in the world would anyone put the cut off valve inside and do away with the drain caps outside where they could be drained at same time low water was drained? Now I am worried they may be frozen. It has been 18 degrees here. thanks for help, I will tell what I find after inspection Wednesday

They are inside so they will not freeze when you are using the RV in the winter. The drains with caps will freeze easier. Our flagstaff had the valves inside its a better setup in my opinion.

Sounds like the factory has improved their design between 2015 and 2016, or some TT lines do things differently since FR is not a single company. My Georgetown has the standard plugs, there is a clean line with no plug which is the water tank overflow, a white line with a plug which is the water tank drain (low pressure side of the pump) and the other line is the high pressure side of the pump (cold, hot and the rest of the piping in the unit.) Actually, as others have pointed out, the plugs make those lines susceptible to freezing since they are under the unit and internal valves would be a much better solution. If you don't have plugs you must have valves inside somewhere, perhaps in the water pump bay. Much better solution and some members have added these valves themselves and just left the plugs off.

In addition, the water filter is on the high pressure side of the pump and it won't drain by itself. Air pressure winterizing should empty it, but it is better to open it and dump any residual water and remove the filter during winterization.

This is 100% fact. It's ironic that on most RVs, the pipes that are designed to keep your pipes from freezing are piped such that they will be the first thing to freeze if you are winter camping.

I wish my low point drains had valves hidden inside of the conditioned area.

Will be going to Rv today and try to find cut offs. I hope u folks are correct, I have checked around water pump and could find no cut offs, also the hemisphere does not have a built in filter. The water pump is in the very front of Rv inside the pass thru storage area and 20 feet from where these hoses are located. Will update this evening, thanks again for all the thoughts.

Well after 3 hours of searching for where the red and blue drain hoses go to and how to open the drains for them, l have found nothing. They are not behind the pantry, stove, island sink, furnace,water heater or water pump. I give up, I guess I will try contacting FR Salem and see if can help. One last idea is maybe the manufacture forgot to install the plugs or don't install them anymore. who knows? Anyway thanks to all who tried to answer the question.

Does it have bench type seating?

If so pull the cushions and remove the chip board they sit on.

If they are screwed on remove the screws.

If they are in a cabinet they might be behind a false panel.
