On my Wildcat MAXX it's located behind the radio/dvd player. I removed this unit to get access to the receiver for the remote control module.

Ours is located in a cabinet under the command center. Hidden by a luan box that matches the cabinets. Easy to miss. When this happened to us, we had to buy a new remote. If a new battery for remote and/or resetting the control module, and then pressing the connect button does not work a new remote might be the solution.

What is your solution if slide does only work with remote and not with control panel on wall?

Karen. This is a Salem 27RKSS not even close to your much nicer setup. Just trying to compare apples to apples.

We have a 29RKSS fifth wheel, and I had seen others say that the receiver was under the fridge in them and I thought that was just crazy. The fridge is all the way in the back of the RV as far from the battery as you can get and it's nowhere near the converter or the monitor/switch panel.

Well, guess what? I took the remote and when to searching for the clicks last night. And sure enough the multifunction receiver is right beside the stove which is beside the fridge. That's the stupidest place it could be. It's no where near any of the equipment it controls and is as far away from the battery as you could possibly get. There's at least 60' of wire between the battery and the landing gear motor which is 2' above the battery. It's not even close to the slide motor.

I said all that to say that just because it makes sense that it's near something doesn't mean it's anywhere near anything that it controls.

The good news is that I have plenty of wire to allow me to move it about anywhere I want to, and I plan on moving it to the cabinet where the monitor/switch panel is located.

Just thought I would give my input as to where he should start looking. We went thru every inch before finally finding ours.

Find the transmitter. There should be an in-line fuse going to the control .
We took a power surge on our unit so we have had a whole can of worms to repair or replace or reset.

Hey Mike -- Sounds like you have the opposite problem instead of the same trouble. Yours will work with the remote but not with the manual switch. Is that correct?

Knowing which unit you have would help a lot. We're kinda firing blind, not even knowing if it's a TT, or 5th Wheel and what model it is.

Since the manual switch isn't working I'd look between it and the battery for an inline fuse. It's probably a 30 amp and could be hidden behind the battery.

P.S. Have you located the receiver in yours? If not, spend a little time locating it. As I said, ours is under the stove.

Thumbs up Remote

Thank you, that was it. Salem Hemisphere 327 RES 5th wheel, found fuse in front storage, under the 5th wheel hitch. Also found the remote main board. It is behind paneling in the pass-thru, where the water heater and furnace live.

Thank you again, Mike

My small handheld remote works everything, but is hard to operate with hard presses on the icons required. Also, on the landing gear, it appears to be programmed backwards - pressing up arrow makes gear go down & etc. I guess this is another typical Lippert product?

2Vals -- Do you have the touch screen remote or the push button remote?

I think that's how they intend for it to work. Pressing the up button raises the RV, which means that the landing gear extends (i.e. goes down).

If you really want to change that, you can find the receiver and swap the two wires to the landing gear and it'll operate in the opposite direction.

We have the cell phone size touch screen remote. There are 2 large arrows (up & down) and an icon with the RV depicted. When you press the up arrow, the RV icon is moving up on the screen and you would expect the landing gear to go down - extend. I puzzled over this for a while, then decided no big deal. Maybe it can be re-programmed somehow?
Heading your way in a few, Bama Rambler. My son lives in Fairhope Al near the coast.

Mine was behind main circuit board in trailer. My remote stopped working and was sent a new one but it didn't operate anything. I had to program the remote to the trailer which wasn't hard but don't recall the exact procuedures as it was 3 years ago and has worked ever since.
