I have owned other TT but my first 5er. Any suggestions on what tho add to the trailer. I bought sewer, water hose, levelers, tire chocks, fifth wheel king pin lock. Anything else I need. Thank you in advance and my first RV since I retired.

Be sure to get an electric surge protector, they cost a few hundred dollars for a good one. Also a swivel extension for the hose to keep it from wearing at the inlet and outlet and a dual hose connector. Get the blue water filters for the drinking water. You will need a second hose to clean the black water tank and use around the unit for various things. You also need tank chems.

Great ideas! Our old camper had an outside shower, but our new one does not. I need to get a Y-adapter so I can hook up another hose for use outside.

We had lightning strike near our camper last year. Our camper was not damaged, but another camper nearby had some damage to the inverter, I think it was. Do the surge protectors protect against lightning?

Welcome and congrats on your Salem 282 RL. Highly recommend roof vent covers so you can leave the roof vents open in the rain to get fresh air.

Definitely get a surge protector and a water pressure regulator. Water filter is a good idea. Rain gutter extenders, tire covers and stair carpets. Also dirt dauber screens for the furnace. You will learn as you go on your particular FW. Congrats on your new rig.

First complaint will be from the DW saying this camper wiggles when people walk or roll over in bed.

Thank you all for the advice. I have bought a few important thing. Doing PDI early November then traveling for the first week returning from picking up the trailer. I used to own a 40' travel trailer so i am hoping for a better pull with my 5er.

Much better pull with the 5er. Night and day difference. I would definitely recommend some sort of stabilizer for the landing gear.
