salem 286rlt with chev 2500 tv

Hi all I am new to the site and this is my first try at a post.
I'm wondering if anyone out there with a 2014 salem 286rlt 5th wheel is towing it with a Chevy 2500 6.0 L gas and how are they doing with it.
Thanks for all your input

2500 tow vehicle

Welcome to the family and the Forest River rv world, I purchased and picked up a 2016 286rl 17 of june. towed it from Ohio to South Dakota, then to N.C., with a 1500 Dodge Hemi truck, averaged 11 mpg, only problem with this set up was going thru N.C. mountains, 94 deg. heat and got down to 40 mph a few times, every where else did fine. Had overload springs and hd shocks, but really could use air bags for more level and smoother ride on rough roads. Only problems with the 286rl was a lamp over the island fell off and shattered, and the night shade in the dining room had a broken cord, I called selling dealer, Jeff Couch about issues they promptly shipped new replacement parts to me. Very happy with rv, and jeff couch rv. hope this helps with your concerns, Tom

Thanks Tommie;
Info is helpful. I was hoping the truck was big enough for the 5th wheel.
sounds like no major problems for you and gas mileage was pretty good.
We are looking forward to being fulltimers starting in Aug. Plan on running North east to the coast and following the weather south. Am very happy to hear your problems were taken care of. We're pretty sure we will love the rv have had it out on short trips around here.
Thanks Paul

I think you should be fine with your TV set up. 2500 w/ 6.0L will pull you through.
Have fun!
