Salem Cruise Lite Owners - Please Read

New Social Group Thread Started:

Hello all Salem CL owners. Wife and I decided to start a new thread in the Social Groups forum where us Cruise Liters can share anything (travels, tips, camping invites/photos, opinions, etc. as a Group.

Between the Salem and Salem Cruise Lite Owners Group threads we should have two great FR Forum resources for our trailers and friendships.

To navigate to Social Groups:
1. After signing in, click on UsersCP in the green bar.
2. Click on Social Groups under the Network bar.
3. Click on View all Groups under the RANDOM GROUP bar.
4. Click on Salem Cruise Lite Owners Group

To get this Thread going, we plan to populate it with some photos of our best campground trips of 2016. Please join-in with us.

I use the Tapatalk mobile app to manage all forums and have never once logged in to a Forest River site so those instructions don't work for me.
Could you just post a link or give a better idea of the of the main forum or category this is in? Because I can't find it anywhere.

Tips:

You have the option to join the Salem Cruise Lite Owners group. Once you have joined a group it will be displayed in your User CP area.

You can also subscribe to receiving alerts when someone post a new message. Go to "group tools" for the drop down menu.

Another way to access Social Groups is by clicking on "Community" in the green banner which is located next to "FAQ".

There already is a Salem forum along with the General Community Discussions forum are great places for these types of threads that way all RV owners can participate and learn from others. JMHO of coarse.

That's a valid point about the Salem forum. It's the main resource for other Salem owners. You can post much longer messages on the forum which provides more details. Also search options tend to work better in the forums than within a social group.

Social Group discussion messages are limited to 1,000 characters. Social groups discussions are more like chit-chat at a coffee shop with a smaller group. Anyone is welcome to drop in but most members will elect to stay on the open forum where information is flowing more regularly. The Social Group is not intended to replace the forum but rather just offer an quiet corner within a smaller group.

Salem Cruise Lite Owners Group

Last week we started a new Salem Cruise Lite Owners Group thread in Community/Social Groups. So far 12 members have joined up.

We appreciate anyone's feedback on a Discussion Topic you would like to view or contribute to, or any other ideas you have.

Here is the link again. THANK YOU for your interest in this Owner's Group.

It's very difficult to post pics in the social groups, too.

Doesn't make sense to me.

Great comment! Totally agree, not easy. Social Groups requires the URL of the photo you want to post it.

To get the URL you have to first Create a New Album in Community/Pictures & Albums, here is the link: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...rs/albums.html

After opening the above link:
1. Click on Create a New Album
2. Enter the Title of your Album. Description of album is optional.
3. Click on Submit
4. Click on Upload Pictures
5. Select Browse to locate your photo and upload it.
6. After uploaded, copy the URL of the photo.
7. In the Salem Cruise Lite Owners Group, click on Add Pictures
8. Paste the URL in the box.
9. Click on Add Pictures

Note:
1. This works on my computer and tablet but not on my I phone.
2. Any photo you delete or change the Title or Description in either your Community Album or Social Group will automatically delete/change in both locations.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. But still too complicated - FOR NO REASON AT ALL THAT I CAN DISCERN.

My work-around: I just start a regular thread, post my pics, then paste a link to it in the social group. But it's crazy that I should have to do either method. (Are you listening, Social Knowledge, LLC???)

Great, I didn't know there was a shorter path through this madness. Thank you.

Only a limited number of photos can be posted in Social Groups. The way around this is to create an album and then post a link to it which you have already figured out.

I'm working on learning how to do tasks here using my iPhone. From what I have gathered it seems that using the full site instead of the green or orange apps works better for some people. I haven't gotten that far yet to find out.

What i was trying on say on a previous post was just because you don't own a Salem Cruise Lite doesn't mean you can't learn something or teach someone on a general discussion forum most TT all have the same basic stuff that people ask questions about.
