Salem Hemisphere 368rlbh extremely loud a/c

We have whatever roof a/c that came stock on our unit. It seems to run extremely loud all the time when it is on. It's so loud that you can't even sit inside and have a conversation without yelling at each other. Is this normal? Any input would be greatly appreciated

That is not normal. If it is new, I would take it back to dealer and have them listen to it. You could also listen to others with a similar unit. It should not be that loud.

Might be a silly question, but is the air dump open? I know ours are super loud with the dumps open.

What brand is the thermostat? That will tell us what brand the A/C is.

There have been several complaints of the Coleman Mach 8 units being loud.

As dwayneb236 said, they're all kinda loud if you have the air dump open.

Yes they are loud. That is the biggest complaint I have with our AC unit. The airflow is just to loud.

While the Dometic 15k units are loud, they shouldn't be as loud as you described.

Is it a constant drone, or does it sound like something out of balance?

Inside shroud

I would start by removing the inside shroud and watch the fan turn and see if it has a bent blade. With the inside shroud removed you will be able to tell if it is inside or outside. If the inside fan is not making the noise then you may have to climb on the roof and take the outside shroud off and have some one turn the a/c on and see if the noise is the outside fan. look also at the bolts holding the compressor to the unit.

Our 15k is loud enough that you have to double the volume on the TV when the AC is on. Our old 13.5k AC was just a tad quieter.
