No clue. Searching reveals they appear to be the same unit. May want to contact Forest River and ask for clarification.

Welcome to the forum.

Good answer Young Travellers, except that I think the LE series is a somewhat downscaled Salem, a price-leader if you will. Pretty much identical but with slightly lower grade of features - solid wood o/h cabinet doors instead of glass inserted ones, etc. It's noticable when you have two side by side (father in law had an LE while we have a 'regular' Salem)

The letter designations for the different models are LE, LA (aluminum frame), XL (which I think was previously just Salem), and PT for park trailer.

Here are the two floorplans, they do look pretty much identical though one is designated West coast only.

Note the weight specs for each one... the LE is marginally lighter.

Just to complicate things, FR seems to have separate model numbers on each of its three regions.
  • Salem 401-2b; 31" Sony Trinitron and two channels on the antenna.
  • Smokin' hot wife... 2 boys, 25 and 10.
