Should be able to use the clear plastic hose like they use for fish tanks, pool filtering, etc. My ACE hdwr has a variety of that type hose in stock. You are using it to vent air, make it long enough to put a loop in it to help stop water loss.

Doesn't it need to be drinking quality hose since it's the fresh water tank? I know it's mainly for venting air but when filling is complete wouldn't the overfill water come out it?

Overflow hose is a misnomer it is the tank vent hose but indicates when tank is full. The mentioned replacement hose will not be detrimental to health.

Correct. If you know anyone with a fish tank they are more fussy with water then humans. I am using the same hose and I'm still here!

I may just put a stop valve on the vent hose and close it when traveling. But I can't seem to find a plastic one like on the drain line. It looks just like the ones in your house on toilet or sink supply line but plastic since its outside. Any suggestions on finding one?

So I put a valve on the vent hose for now instead of rerouting the entire line. Can it be closed when filling the tank to make sure I get a full tank? If I fill when it's open until it's running out, by the time I turn off water and close the vent line I've lost some water.

How does air get out of the tank if you fill with a hose? If the air doesn't got out, tank could split open!

If I did a slow fill couldn't air come out the fill tube? When I fill gas cans without a vent nothing happens to them.

I wasn't aware you filled with a funnel. That would let the air out. A lot of water that slow. I changed my outside fill to one with a door and vent built in. Works great. Easy mod.

I've encountered this problem a couple of times when travelling and have been considering a different solution. The cause of this problem is the overflow pipe being inserted too far into the tank. Once water starts flowing in the overflow pipe, it acts as a siphon to drain water.There's no air entry into the tank so as water exits the tank, it collapses keeping the water level high enough for the siphon to keep running.
I believe the long term solution is to provide an air intake to break the siphon. The top of the overflow hose is at least 1.5" above the tank and water in the 1" diameter overflow pipe will flow along the bottom of the pipe. I suspect that a small hole drilled in the top side of the overflow pipe at its highest point will break the siphon and prevent draining the fresh water tank.

I ran a longer overflow hose and put a pex shut off valve and mounted it under to next to the edge so I have easy access to it.

I'd say FR design engineering is infamous for this. My 2003 Cedar Creek Sikverback (a TT, not a 5er) had the overflow run straight down to the underside WITH a valve. First time I really filled the tank, I was surprised by the multiple water burps that came out! Had the screened opening next to the water fill as well, but the FR decision was to use a valve on the bottom. Why? I have no idea. I filled the tank slowly towards the end and never sealed the garden hose at the entry so air could escape. Seems like some parts of the company still do the same thing...

Picked up some tubing to properly reroute the vent line to the connector by the fill point. I noticed the tubing I got says 70 psi max. The current tubing on the FW tank and pump says 150 psi max. Should I return and get the reinforced tubing with 150 max also?

No. If it is a vent hose it is opened to ambient and therefore no pressure exerted on the tubing. What you have is fine.

Typical water hookup is 40-50 anyways. You're fine with what you have, especially for just a vent/overflow hose.

OK, This just hit home with me.
I have a 2014 Hemisphere 327 res, I had this same issue. While it was in for maint. I had the dealer look at it, he said it was a big job to fix it at the tank so he did the same as everyone else, put a valve on it and routed to the side so no crawling under the trailer to open/close.
Well, stupid me? The drain valve is oriented across the valve, 90* to the hose but the vent valve they put on is opposite, I found out the hard way. While filling the tank for the first time since, I heard that awful "bang".
I'm not seeing any water leaking from under the trailer but the pump isn't pumping any water out of the tank either, my guess is that I blew the pump hose off the tank
Since it's an enclosed underbelly, I have no idea where to start looking for the pump hose outlet. I can clearly see the vent and drain but, Does anyone know where the best position is to start "operating" on it is?
Is there a diagram of the tank layout available somewhere. We have a trip out this Wednesday and I have to use the FW tank.

Rerouting the vent tube at the tank was a little more then I wanted to deal with considering how little I use the FW tank. So I put on a stop valve from Amazon and made a screen cover for it. Amazingly the end of the vent tube didn't have a screen so anything could have crawled in.
Just got back from first trip with this setup, it worked great and kept my water while traveling. I just made opening vent line part of setup checklist.
