Testing new shower head

I put in a new shower head and would like to test before going camping. My clean water hose will not reach from the house but my regular garden hose would. Could I use that just to test or would it contaminate my water lines? Also could I just empty what little grey water this will create right in my driveway? I just want to ensure it works and no leaks before leaving.

I would get another length of potable water hose....you will one day run into a camp site where you will need it....for the cost of them...best to have a spare 25 footer in the storage compartment...but if you choose not to do this...its not that your garden hose will "contaminate" anything....it just leaves an off taste from the rubber hose. Just dont use hot water so your hot water tank doesn't fill with water from your garden hose. For the minute you will run it it wont hurt, and having that small amount of water in your grey tank wont bother anything either. Will you have full hook up where you are going? If so, dont worry about it, if not, then yes you could empty into a pail on your driveway and discard.

Everyone here grew up drinking out of water hoses, I sincerely doubt you'll hurt anything. You can let the water flow for a couple of minutes before hooking up to rinse anything loose out.

Yes, you can drop the gray on the ground, but beware, it'll potentially smell pretty bad. But for the gallon or two for a test you can just leave it until you go on a trip.
