Vinyl trim screw cover on compartment doors

How the hell do you get replacement vinyl screw cover to fit around the corners of compartment doors? I've tried hot water, heat gun, tape, ect. Just about ready to fill it in with white calk and call it good. What am I doing wrong?

without model of unit or pics.. Best guess would be to force it in place, it should flex some.

I guess it's called vinyl insert. I cannot get it to work around the corners .

Did the Old trim pcs. have a series of Pie shape cuts in the Radius area? Youroo!!

Be sure the tang along the edge of the vinyl is facing up at you and as you go around the corners push back against the vinyl so you are not pulling it as you go around the corners. If you stretch it as you go around it will pop out as fast as you insert it. Most important the edges of the vinyl have to face you. Before cutting it leave an inch overlap on the end to allow for future shrinkage.

Normally all radius is preformed by injected moulding in the factory that makes the moulding. The problem comes when you try to fit moulding that wasn't preformed for that radius. I learned building home any vinyl trim you tried to bend it around a radius it tries to return to its original moulding. If it couldn't it would eventually split or Crack no matter what you do.

On our CC Silverback 29re I had a small leak on Pass side storage area....Spend months trying to find source......Lubed door rubber seal with silicine.....adjusted door catch.......Then I found the cause......On the bottom of the door frame there is a small black piece of plastic with a single screw holding it in place......Water was seeping under this piece and then following the screw threads down to underneath the outside door frame......Was not a "big" leak,,,,,,just enough to be anoying????? Put some caulking under plastic and replaced screw..."LEAK FIXED"!!!!!!!!

Try a heat gun or hair dryer on high.

OK. Found out that I was trying to use the wrong insert. I had some vinyl insert left over from a previous tt and tried to use it. Found that I needed to use the flexible rubber type and also narrower. Thanks for all the input.
