Washing the TT
Stupid question but just wondering how people wash their TT. I have a Salem 171RBXL. It's only 17 ft but the front curve is a pain to wash. I was wondering how people cleaned the exterior of their TT?

When possible, I wash mine with the same cleaners I use on my cars. Just use a long handled brush with soft bristles. On the road, I use Meguiar's Ultimate Wash Wax Anywhere. Spray it on and wipe with a micro fiber mop head on a long pole, then flip the moist side over and wipe with a micro fiber cloth.

I wait for a nice rain storm. Pour soap on the roof and drive about 55.
When it stops racing I speed up to 65. Dries it off pretty well.

Washed our 40 foot by hand. I lowered the nose and used the back of the truck and a long handle micro fiber scrubber. What I couldn't get from there I was able to reach down from on top. We cleaned the roof first so I just reached down as far as I could. Took my wife and I about 6 hours to wash it. It was well worth the time.

I use streak remover from Bio Kleen. Spray on wash brush, start at bottom and go up. Rinse that area and move on keeping unclean areas dry. Works great on aluminum and fiberglass. Especially good for aluminum. Then we wax with Lucas Oil Slick Mist. Spray on, wipe off. This wax holds up very well. Stays on after cleaning with Streak Remover. We wax twice a year.

Foam Cannon. Turtle Wax High Performance Car Shampoo.
Foam the whole side and leave it for at least 5 minutes. Foam it again and brush lightly. Rinse, and move on to the next side. Takes about 35 minutes for the whole thing.
Easy and really gets the crud off.

We have the same trailer. That front curve is certainly a challenge, as you mentioned.
I have gotten the front shiny clean by lowering the tongue jack, using a 7-foot A-frame step ladder, a long-handled Swiffer-type mop with separate microfiber cloths for washing and polishing with a wash-wax product applied from a spray bottle.
I try to brush off the dearly-departed bug guts after each trip. I find a long-handled soft-bristled brush helps that process for the out-of-reach carcasses. But a damp dryer sheet or light scrub sponge gets the more difficult dead bugs off that I can more easily reach.
Lowering the tongue jack for the curve helps immensely!
I hope that method helps you!
Happy Camping!

I also recommend the foam cannon, it makes washing my rig pretty easy. I wash mine before every trip out, not only does it keep things clean and sparkling but it also allows me to inspect everything (seams, roof, seals, etc.).

I use foam dispenser & apply Meguires Gel wash or Boat Wash. Clean with a long-handled soft brush and rinse. Camco black streak remover as needed, Camco awning cleaner if needed. Wax twice a year with Meguires Pure Wax and a Griots’ Garage random orbital buffer. Meguires Hot Shine in the tires. I spray Fluid Film on the frame underneath anywhere rust may start.

I wash off the black streaks with Dawn and water (faster than anything I've tried before) and then just a Wash & Wax soap. Tried several and they did fairly well.

Wash Wax All kit. Their mop really makes a huge difference cleaning that front curve! It’s a pricey apparatus, but so worth it once you give it a go! Now there’s nothing I can’t reach! And no ladder needed except for the roof.

Dawn has been known to destroy fiberglass. It will also totally remove any wax. Safest way to remove black streaks on fiberglass or painted surfaces is with automotive clay detailing compound.

Turtle Wax Zip Wax Car Wash in cold water. Even does a decent job of cleaning the canopy/awning!
