I think on my rig it is part of the venting for the oven. It might be cheaper and faster for FR regardless if you have an oven or not to install a slotted filler. That way the installer doesn't have to think just install.

Hey, you're right, I didn't think of that. But it's awful rattly for me, our knifes are not that thick.

My 346QBUD has one as well. It's a knife holder. They don't put wood that close to burners.
