315BHT bike rack

Just purchased a '06 315BHT and would like add a bike rack. Any suggestion (bumper mount, adding 2" receiver, etc...) or forget about it?

Thanks in advance

Hello, and welcome. Since this is your first post, I will direct you to host of answers. If you do a search for "bike rack" on this forum, you will see it has been asked before, and a lot of answers given. My memory tells me the winner is add a receiver attached to the frame, as the twisting action of a bumper mount causes the bumper to break. Search the forums and hope you get an answer that will fit your situation.

Ditto to Windrider, I have posted a few pics of my mount on a few other posts regarding bike racks, one of which is on a Roo 233 post, refer to this link and scroll down.

have one welded or bolted to the frame, the bumper mount models can tear off the bumper, seen it happen a lot .

I certainly don't want to start an arguement here, especially since I'm the newby.

But, I was at the RV show in Austin about a month ago buying my Sierra 355QBQ, and there was a FR factory rep there also. I asked him this very question since it is a hot topic, explaining that I have a 4-bike rack. He said FR has no problem at all mounting a 4-bike rack to the bumper, as long as the coach is a model with the heavier bumper. Some of them have a bumper like a soda can, but mine is quite heavy.

IMHO, as long as you make sure it is tight so not to wiggle around, and it's the type that spreads the load out across a bigger section of the bumper, you're ok.

I have this rack and it's worked for me for over two years.

holy smokes, I need one of those. can you verify that it strongly supports 4 adult bikes? It's almost too hard to believe

Well I can tell you that I have had 4 adult bikes (2 steel frame and 2 alum frames) on there several times including trips to Big Bend, Beavers Bend Ok, Eureka Springs Arkansas, and more.

No probs for me, but as I mentioned, my coach has a really heavy square bumper compared to others I have seen.

I got mine on eBay.

And I ended up getting mine on eBay too. Took a while to install, but it carried 4 heavy bikes all summer for us. Thanks for the great recommendation, now all the folks I camp with want one too! :+)
