I cut an I-beam and used two $14 receivers from Harbor Freight to make the base.

The rack I bought from Discountramps.com. It is a fold down 3 bike, platform carrier $149 with free shipping. Absolutely love the bikes there where I can watch them.

You did a fantastic job with that! I'm with you....I think I would rather have them where they can be seen. Hmmm...maybe another project for my already-overworked hubby!! Thanks for posting the pics!

Easiest for most is at CAT scales at any truck stop. The scale has separate sections for the trucks front axle, back axle and camper axles. Weight all three when hooked up then repeat the truck weights unhooked and then you can calculate unloaded truck weight, loaded truck weight, pin weight, camper weight and total combined weight.

There are many Certified Cat Scale locations that you can find here CAT Scale Pull onto the scale with your rig. Make sure the front tires and rear tires of TV are on separate plates, then make sure that the trailer tires are on a different than the TV. You may have to stand on the running board to reach the speaker. Press the button and tell them "private weigh" they will tell you when it's captured. Pull off of the scale and find a place to park. Then go in and pay(usually around $10). Then find a place to drop the trailer, go back and weigh just the truck. Go in and pay(around $2 this time) and then go hitch up. Then you can determine the total weights of both, the weight of each one individually and the amount of pin weight you have.

Then the "weight police" have done their job.

Being made aware there is a deficiency in understanding is the first step toward learning something new.

I try to learn at least one new thing every day.

I forget so much each day that this gets easier as I get older.

Very true! I try not to be the one to tell others they should pull their rigs. I was only pointing out my experience. But you are correct, they have got me to thinking and being in public safety for almost 30 years now, I've seen things that could've been avoided with a little thinking
As far as learning something new, as much as I am forgetting these days, it is getting harder and harder to keep up!!

I've posted earlier in this thread. I have just been so busy, I haven't done any research on my unit specifically, or weighed my unit. I have a 2012, but the earlier model delivered in August 2011, so my layout is very similar to golfmedik. I have two A/C's, outside kitchen, table and chairs in place of booth, and the king bed. The tag on my unit stated I have 1313lbs of cargo carrying capacity, but then cautions me that I need to subtract for water, at 450lbs for a full tank. One thing they didn't consider is people (like me) who fill their water heater as well, so you're not down 10 (or 6) gallons of water right off the bat. That's an additional 84lbs for me. Then I added the washer / dryer. (not included in weight sticker) I didn't order our unit with them, as my parents had given my wife and I a significant gift card to a local appliance retailer, but we bought the same models Forest River installs when they are ordered. We did the Whirlpool washer WFC7500VW and dryer LDR3822PQ. The washer weight is 172lbs, and the dryer 90lbs and they were delivered from the retailer to the dealership and installed before we took possession. Bottom line.... Subtract for a full tank of water (we almost never camp where we have water hookup) and subtract for the water heater, and the washer / dryer and I've got capacity for 517lbs. I'm being conservative when I say I'm certain I'm at least 1000 lbs over... if not closer to 1500. I need to weigh our unit and I will do that when I remove it from indoor storage in the next couple weeks. We camp on average every other weekend, so we literally have the thing stocked. We carry nothing from the house except some perishable food. The Montana I traded in had a larger water tank, but it also had over 2,500lbs of carrying capacity. I have placed a call to the facotry and I am just awaiting a call back. I'm hoping they will make some modifications to my rig as well, as I don't feel it's safe to travel when you're that overloaded. I'll post any updates to my progress for anyone interested.

Keep us informed please. I believe I know why we are having these issues, but it's just my opinion. What rating does you pin box have on it? Mine is now 15,500 and I am near the rating now. A couple hundred shy with all I carry, but as I stated before, these are BIG and HEAVY units to come from the factory with 6k axles. If you read between the lines, it is the options that get you. My line of thinking would be that you build it to carry all the "options" you offer and then a decent cargo carrying capacity. But that is not what has happened here. I just hope that our pin boxes hold up to the rating that they have specified. I knew the moment I pulled my 365SAQ off of the lot that it was much heavier than my '11 355QBQ that I towed onto the lot. That being said, this rig has the best floor plan around(as I have said many times), I just wish it had come from the factory like all of the other units of this size, with 7k axles. I would even suggest to the factory, that when ordering the units and options are added, that once they reach a certain weight of options, they go ahead and require you to get the 7k axles on the rig. I am totally happy with the way it pulls now. Not bad before, just kind of 'lumbering'. She now is much better and I absolutely love this rig! Good luck.
