Golf and Aqua, I know this was brought up a while ago. Last August they put the new 7 k axles under my 365. My main AC went up in July with a couple of days left on my warranty (which they covered). The AC and axles were replaced at the same time. The AC unit that came with the camper is no longer made authority of the manufacturer and they sent a replacement. My new height is 13' 10''. What is yours. Just a little paranoid now when pulling. Have taken multiple sewer vent caps off in last two trips out.

I'm around 13'5" at the front ac, which is a full size unit. What kind of ac did they put on yours?

Mine was 13'2" a while back when measured. The new axles raised it some as well as the GY tires. My 365 has the big AC units too. Not even the low profile one in the front bedroom. I've already replaced the front AC shroud as I punched a huge hole in it last summer. I hit the dang thing again this past week, but only scuffed it up. I would like to see just how mine is measuring up now, but I look around and I see others that HAVE to be higher than mine.

AC units are Dometic. Front is low profile. Old main was more rectangular and same height as front. New one is square and now obviously higher than front. Forgot, when the new Axels were installed I went to Firestone Transforce HT's rather then the China bombs. Also went up half a size which added some height. I used to be 13'2''. Big difference with the three modifications.

So is there an email address at forest river for someone that will actually reply or is it better to call them

No breaks on a 13000#+ unit is far from acceptable along with the fact of the minimal CCC.

Well finely got an answer from FR

"
The 6000lb axles were standard when yourunit was built. When we switched axles brands the 7000 were cheaper than the6000 so we made the change from ALKO 6000 to Dexter 7000. Your dry weightmay be 12600 but you need to deduct the hitch weight and your axles are notunder rated."

they don't seem to think that there is an issue with the axles anymore I guess will be looking into this a bit more looks like a generic reply to see if I will just let it go to me

Read back through the forum post. As of 2008, federal law prohibits them from deducting the pin weight. And they know this and try it with everyone. Under the FMVSS...

Just an update for Canadian owners forest river is ignoring the issue for me not replying any more to my emails

I have contacted transport Canada for specific laws along with the safety complaint department about undersized axles on this unit

I suggest any Canadians that have this issue also contact transport Canada and make them aware as I do not believe that 12000# axles are sufficient to stop these RV in a sudden stop situation and is really a safety issue with my 3 kids on board of a 14000#+ trailer

I have referred them to the NTSB rulings of 2008 having to use axles taking the full weight of the trailer

When I get any updates I will post them here

I'm curious as to what the ruling actually says. Could you point me to the actual paragraph, so I don't have to read the entire thing?
