376bhok Weight

Hello. I'm considering purchasing a 376bhok. I have a 2013 Chevy 3500 SRW duramax. Does anyone know the real pin weight of this trailer? I know the empty is 2100 but that doesn't mean anything.

Hopefully someone comes along with actual weights. Until then, we can play math games to get a decent idea of what it'll actually be.

You're right that the 2,180 pounds isn't a realistic figure, but if you take it divided by the dry weight, you'll find out the designed hitch weight percentage (2,180 / 12,610) = 17.3%

I've found that my camper increases 1/2 - 1 1/2% as I load up the front storage area (for me the longer the trip, the more stuff went and higher the pin weight). So, we can best guess an actual loaded pin weight to be something like 18% - 18.5%.

Then, on a +40' camper, you're likely to load 2,000 pounds worth of stuff including some weight in the 307-317 gallons of water tanks (gray, black, fresh and water heater). So, it's realistic to believe that you'll have a loaded weight somewhere around 14,500 pounds (maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less). If you take that times the pin weight percentage above, you'll get a realistic pin weight:

14,500 * .18 = 2,610 pounds (or at 18.5% = 2,682)

You can play around with the numbers. But a worst case scenario only changes the pin weight by under 200 pounds-- if you're ever fully at GVWR of the trailer (15,500 pounds), you're looking at pin weights of 2,790 pounds.

I went ahead and bought the trailer. Looked like the best bang for the buck. We looked at so many and kept coming back to this one.

I weighed my truck ready to travel and its 8500 lbs. I've got a GVW of 11,5000 so even with the trailer totally full I should be good.

Awesome! Don't forget, if they weren't there for the weighing, that you need to account for all passengers and anything that rides in the truck bed (including hitch). I know my wife, I, our kids and all crap that we typically carry runs us about 1,200 pounds. But, I'm a little (ahem) "big boned".

It's a fantastic floorplan!

We saw one at the Goshen rally and wife fell in love with it. We have the 365saq, which is similar. The full front side windows, kitchen layout, and master bath were the things we liked about it, over our 365. The smaller bunkhouse and shorter awning were things we didn't, but if we were in the market, we may have purchased a 376.

It was a tossup between this one and the 365. I only have 2 kids so we decided to go with the living room space vs the bunk house. Now I just to figure out what size TV I need for the bunkhouse. I'd like to pick one up on black Friday. I don't get the trailer until next month.

Oh and to answer ependydad's question we had the kids with us and a full tank of diesel. I added 200 lbs for the hitch.

I only have a SRW 3500 but looks like I'm within specs.

I put a 29" in our bunkhouse and it works out fairly well. If I recall, the entertainment is under the OK bunk on the 376, it's on the back wall in the 365. Only 2 of our kids still camp with us on a regular basis, but they usually bring friends, so the extra bunk works out well for us.

In case anyone is interested I finally got around to weighing my truck and trailer with it ready to camp.

Trailer grossed at 13,280. Pin is 2580.

My rear axle on my truck was only 6140 so I still have 910 available on the rear axle rating. I'm 10,960 on the truck with a 11,500 GVWR.
