So far we have been able to go where we like. From what I've read state koa's in California is difficult.

Hi y,all, got a 2015 35 ROK a couple of months ago. Usual quality control problems with FR. Other than that we really like this layout. Wanted a bunkhouse for the grandkids but this would be better in the longrun

CN, so far it is just minor stuff but we have only had it out a couple of times. Had to have dealer relocate the right propane tank latch, replace one blind, relocate dining table so blinds could be closed, reattach closet door slide, replace stove light, tighten sink drains. There were also some nicks around the stove opening to touch up and a nick in the flooring(believe they realighned the slide). The blinds in the dinette have string attachment points that look like they were screwed in 3 times before they were happy.
Don't get me wrong. We really like this thing. We had a Flagstaff popup before this and had similar little QC snafoos. Our dealer did a fine job and most things I can take care of I feel like spending the time

Thanks for your reply. We've owned a SunnyBrook TT and a Coachman pop up. The coachman we bought used and only had the lift mechanism break once and we owned that for 5 years. Our TT we owned for 12 years and only had an issue with bedroom sliding door.
So reading about some of the horror stories on this forum has me wondering if we should continue looking at other makes. We love the floor plans and innovations of the Sandpipers, But we really don't want to spend north of 40 large and have it spend more time at the dealer than out camping with us.
Thanks again for replying.

Although you will find many on here who have had nothing done to their trailers, the ones that make the most noise are those with issues. Don't let them scare you off. This happens in all makes and models. Those with major problems come to this forum to find answers. Many never make it here because they don't have problems to investigate. A dozen or so bad eggs out of thousands isn't too bad. I'll take my chances on a Sierra/Sandpiper again.

@ computer nerd.
Unless your going to spend 150k or more there will be nothing to look at. Custom built from a mom and pop style shop may be the only way to be worry free. Even then there are stories.
Trailers are not what they used to be. In some cases better and in other cases not as good. In order to meet the demand of an untapped market, trailers are made lighter and cheaper.
I have owned three campers since 2008. All from different providers and all had minor issues. I no longer shop by brand I shop by dealer. Find the best dealer and buy from them which does not always mean price. I look at the advice they give and try and talk to customers who are there at the time. I look at their reports online and see if there are complaints. If I have a problem regardless what I buy, the dealer is my only hope for a good experience.
With the sandpiper I found a great dealer, then I looked at their lines and ruled out two right away, one another FR and one a keystone. Did this by looking at almost identical trailers interior and exterior on what the eyes could see. The two I ruled out were 1000 and 2000 pounds lighter which meant what I could not see there was less of. The sandpiper had plywood floors and a bigger frame which is the primary reasons they are heavier. To me that represents the quality I am looking for in my price point.

@X96mnn,
Thanks for your reply and advice. It's too bad that the industry has gone that way. We have a Sandpiper and a Sierra dealer near where we live. I guess we start there. Thanks again.

I've looked at many different models and price ranges, and Sierra/Sandpiper has me (and my wife) coming back for the best value. My next 5er will most likely be another, unless we go Class A or TH.

My BIL had a Sandpiper 355qbq (not completely sure of the model), our friends have the Sierra model that's the same and we liked the construction. They didn't have many issues if any, so we looked at the Sierra line and fell in love with the 2015 32qbbs. We haven't had any issues to report. We have small things like the water filter dumping a lot of water removing the housing.

If it makes you feel any better, we've been researching for over a year. We even to 6 RV shows in 3 stares, including the big show in Hershey, PA. We kept coming back to Sandpiper and the 35ROK. We ordered ours because we wanted the theater seats instead of the recliners, a fantastic fan in the kitchen, the polar package since we do live in Michigan and like to camp in the fall, and auto level. We are going to visit the factory and go on a tour.

Nice truck you got there!
Got our 16 381RBOK back in Nov. LOVE it short of the couple of minor issues.
