Axle Question???

Hello Everyone,
We own a 2006 Sandpiper TT 301BHD. We took it in to get the wheels (bearings) serviced before taking it out again and were told that we may or may not have to replace an axle. Then we were told we may have a "slipped axle". Does anyone know what a slipped axle is and how you repair it? The place we took it to was getting ready for thier rv spring show and we don't know how really closely they looked at it. They gave us the good news and said they will repair it after their show. Any comments or ideas how we can tell ourselves what exactly is needed??

I worked at a suspension shop for about 4 years, I'm not sure what they mean by a slipped axle (hopefully somebody on here can explain). We use to deal with a lot of center bolts on the leaf springs breaking in half and it would allow to axle to move forward or backward. I'm not sure if that's what they mean. If that is what happened you should not need a new axle, just a new center bolt.

Possibly they meant a stripped axle, maybe the threads on the axle wheel bearing are stripped because of a loose nut nut?

Call them back and find out exactly what they mean. The only way I can think that an axle has slipped is if it has slipped inside the spring hangers.
