We use our factory bike rack similar every trip, five bikes. Not the most convenient way of hauling them, but works great for us! The issue comes when adding one as many times, the rear frame and bumper aren't able to support the added weight/jostling. Imho

Ladder rack

Bike racks can have more force, twisting and torque then towing a trailer.....

I wouldn't put a bumper mounted hitch on today's campers, maybe back in the 90's!
How about the ladder rack system for bikes?

We have a 2015 sandpiper 35ROK on which the dealer welded a crossbar from frame rail to frame rail and then mounted the receiver hitch. I have added an extension to go under the grill and a bike rack with 3 bikes. So far no problem but I do check it regularly. Myrtle Beach next weekend

It can be done. Just don't attach any kind of bolt-on receiver/hitch to the factory 4" bumper. Attached is a drawing and some pics of what my dealer installed on my Roo 19. As you can see, it's pretty substantial. Used it 3 years, two bikes, no problems.

Question for all --

Cardinal offers a factory installed Bike rack--we are considering this BUT

will the bike rack support two Pedego electric bikes (Let's just say for argument's sake it is a total weight of 100 lbs for the bikes.

26" Step-Thru City Commuter | Pedego Electric Bikes
