Brake adjustments?

so I go to adjust my brakes yesterday. Remove the little cover on the backing plate, there is actually 2 of those little covers side by side. Pull them both out, get my led pencil flashlight, I see no adjuster at all. So I go ahead and pull the wheel/ I still see no adjustment wheel at all. How do you adjust these? Ive never heard of self adjusting. I am now convinced my brakes are not working at all.
Any suggestions?

In fact, newer campers are shipping with brakes that self adjust forward and backwards.

Yours could be like these.
