Change outside fridge to LP?

We have a 365SAQ with the outside fridge. Has anyone found a refrigerator that runs off LP propane? Would be nice to keep it cooler when I don't have full hookups and can't run the generator. Kids seem to be in the fridge all the time

The issue here is heat disposal.

While replacing the fridge with a propane one may seem a good idea, finding one that had a way of dumping all that heat to the exterior of the unit would be problematic.

The cooling coils are on the back remember and the airflow needs to start below the unit and exit the top.

Might be "do-able" if the exterior fridge was not in a slideout by cutting large rectangular hole in the floor below it and building a chimney flue up to the roof; you would still need to be able to access the rear for service so a hatch inside would be needed. Additionally, you would need to be concerned with the fire hazard as a "hard light" could cause a fire you would not be able to see in time to put out.

So, no. That is why you won't see this offered.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll stick with the same refrigerator it came with!

Still a great idea; just not workable with propane technology.

Might be possible with piezoelectric cooling but not sure how much DC power would be needed.

An idea that may work for you, is a portable AC/DC refrigerator/freezer. I have a Wynter 85qt that will freeze and hold temps to -8F. Has digital temp control so you can use as a fridge also. Gets cold quick and uses very little power.

Seems like it would be a better fit.

Might be a better fit, but I got my 85qt for 2/3(or less) the cost, and it fits nicely under my outside kitchen slide, which is always in the shade.
