Colored surround in bathroom shower

Does anyone know if the Sandpipers coming off the line now have the colored surround in the shower like the brochure shows? I like the colored surround and hope that ours comes that way. I'm worried though because sometimes I see pictures online with the surround being white.

Our 2013 Sandpiper 356RL has the colored surround in the shower. It's sort of brown/bronze.

Marvin & Marion, when did you get your Sandpiper? I just ordered ours last week. A 376BHOK. Sure hope they are still doing the brown/bronze surround in the shower. I think that looks really nice.

That is what I want, the colored surround. It just worries me when I see pics online sometimes with it in white. I hope the new RVs coming off the line have the colored surround. If anyone has gotten a recently built RV, they might know.

Not 100% sure but I think the shower color has something to do with the color scheme you ordered. We ordered with the Kahula scheme which includes the darker/brown colored shower according to our dealer. Your dealer should be able to confirm this for you and there is a chance you might be able to option for a different color if what they have planned is not what you wanted.

Hope this helps

We took delivery of our unit in September, 2012. It also has the Kahula color scheme.

We ordered Kahlua also. The dealer confirmed today that it will be the brownish colored surround. Hope everything turns out like RV Wholesalers says it will. They are still trying to talk me into their 5 year protection plan, but I think I'll wait on that.

Dont know if this helps but we took delivery on our Sierra on March 9 and it has the colored shower. It also had LED lights in the awning and LED taillights. The dealer had gotten it in 2 weeks earlier from the factory. We looked at a early 2013 at a rv show in January and it did not have the light change but it did have the colored shower.

pgboone, thanks for the info. It's good to know that something coming off the line recently has the colored shower. The LED lights are probably a good change too. Did the awning not have any lights before? It seems like a neat idea to have them in the awning. Did you buy an extended warranty?

No the LED lights are a mid year change i think. The Sierras I saw at a show in january did not have them. I only bought the extra year warranty from forrest river. Not the one the dealer offered. We saw them first on a Sandpiper at a different show in February and got a price on that unit but that dealer was located 125 miles from home. We checked with a sierra dealer who was at the same show and he had the one we bought coming in the following week. It had most options ordered on it so it worked out well for us. Good luck with yours.

My dealer is trying to tell me that the Forest River 2nd year warranty is basically worthless. He seems to think they don't cover much in the 2nd year and that it is difficult to get any warranty work done in the 2nd year. However, he also admitted that they sell their RVs at such low prices that they really make their money on having people finance and/or buy their warranty through them. I am not financing and if I don't buy their warranty, they may not be as excited to give me a good deal the next time. He agreed. Wow, I was surprised he would admit all that. Oh well, I'm inclined to do the 2nd year warranty for $250 from Forest River and hope for the best. My dealer is RV Wholesalers in Ohio. We will have a long drive from Kansas, but I'm saving about $6,000. Hopefully it all turns out well. Thanks for the great info. on the lights, warranty and bathroom shower surround.

IMO, definitely get the 2nd year warranty. Your call on the extended warranty - it's an insurance thing. Wasted money if nothing goes wrong; great if it does.

RVWholesalers will never remember in a bunch of years if you bought the extended warranty or not. They'll say anything now to get you to buy it.

ependydad - I totally agree with you. I do think he was giving me quite a sales pitch for their warranty. I wasn't falling for it though. I'll for sure do the Forest River 2nd year warranty.

My 2013 376BHOK has the blue LED in the shower, half bath and two switches in the outdoor kitchen for blue or white.

GMC, good to know. Why would they do blue in the bathrooms instead of white? Do you like it? Is there other lighting in the bathroom too?

Nitecat. Our new Sandpiper SAQ365 arrived at the dealer yesterday. As I indicated we ordered the Kahula color and for a fact the shower is the darker color. As pgboone indicated we also have the LED lights in the awning and LED taillights. In previous models lights in the awning were not provided so this is a really nice addition. Once we have delivery I will post pictures.

I love it that they are putting lights in the awning. What a fun addition. Looking forward to seeing pics.

Correct. They almost look like built in rope lights but also like LED. I do my walkthru next Wednesday and take delivery on Thursday so pictures are going to be a few more days.
