Deadbolt question

Hi guys

The deadbolt on the main entrance doesn't engage all the way when turned...meaning it turns about halfway.

Inside the catch plate area the wall is in the way....it is made if metal....so I could drill a hole in it, but then I have a hole....is the deadbolt itself adjustable?

You cannot adjust the deadbolt itself but you can adjust the strike plate.
My last TT had the same issue but I was able to remove some of the exterior wall and foam behind the strike plate to get it to work.
Post a pic so we can see it.

Hi Guys

Thanks, I will try to take some pics in a bit...but yes, the exterior wall (subwall) is in the way of where the deadbolt engages...so I think i need to remove some fo the wall to get a fully engaged deadbolt.

My 365 had some wood behind the strike plate that was keeping mine from engaging. A few minutes with a chisel and all is good.

Do you have a spring piston door holder?

I had one that was too strong and it was twisting the door out of plumb and the door deadbolt hitting the frame was my first indication something was wrong.

Turns out the factory had put a 20 pound piston on the door and it should have been a 10 pound piston.
