Electric fireplace

Went to start up the heater on the electric fireplace this morning, the element glows for a few seconds then stops. Any suggestions?

Check thermostat (heat setting) may be set too low. Read up on how to use the settings in your fire place owners manual.

Sounds like the fireplace heating element tripped a circuit breaker in your RV.

Does it do this every time you try to start the fireplace or did it do it once and now nothing at all?

If you are a 50 amp service using 30 amp it may trip it off/ Fireplace draws lots of amps

X2 - that was my thought exactly.

When we had our 5er (50AMP) we could not run our Fireplace + other items without tripping a circuit breaker.

Most Rv fireplaces at max only draw about 12 amps.

Which is about the same as your water heat, microwave and a/c when its up and running.

Sounds like an issue with the fireplace.

I got a call from the service dept, they said it was the blower motor. They are submitting the warranty claim.

Makes sense. The blower has to operate properly to keep the heating element from overheating and burning out or worse. (kind of like water in a water heater) It obviously has a temperature sensing protection device that was working properly and shut down the unit as you experienced.
