Fresh water tank

I own a 2014 Sandpiper 5th wheel, and I used my fresh water tank for the very first time Memorial Day weekend. As I was filling up the tank it fell out of the bottom of the camper.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Do you have the extended warranty?

No, it's the first time I've ever used the tank. That should not happen, they should cover a manufactures defect.

True but in two years they'll expect that it had been used. The dealer filled ours at delivery and we keep water in it for hand washing and toilet flushing for those times when you just can't find a bathroom going down the road. Also so that the ice maker keeps making ice while in transit. Although after I typed that I wonder how well the water stays put bumping down the road.... UGH the epiphanies you have some times....

Chop249, raise that handle when on the road last year I didn't and had an ice dam in the back of the freezer, thought it was a leak until the dealer told me

Been there, done that and have a new water tank, framing and coroplast to prove it. Ours fell out with a 2/3 full tank while pulling out of the driveway. So glad we didn't make it to the road. FR replaced all under warranty and beefed up the frame work.

Apparently the framing holding the tank in was never welded to the main frame.

Thanks! I might just turn the water pump off while bouncing down the road too!
