If I don't need the LP heater in zone 1, I just leave it off. Works great and keeps the chill off. The heat strips are about $53.00 apiece and really simple to install. Gives me about 3060 watts of heat in zone 2 & 3 on the A/C circuits and I don't need space heaters bleeding off power from other circuits. Brad, sure sounds like a ducting issue causing a backflow/pressure problem causing a hi-limit trip. Hope you get it figured out.

Yes i too added two heatstrips to our two brisk air units. The zone one ac was a blizzard unit so i couldnt add the strips to him.
I havent messed with it anymore but i didnt shorten the duct work and make the bents straighter so the air would flow better.
I almost think the ducts in the camper are to small or the vent they used is too small.
We dont camp much in the frigid cold but the heat strips work decent after you get the camper warmed up. I did notice that they dry the air out bad but thats to be had with the strip heat.
Ive winterized it and tucked away in the shed until spring time. Not sure what i will do when i get it back out.
