Goodbye "Sandy"!

Just stopped by to say that I'm no longer a FR Sandpiper owner. Back in December my wife and son decided they wanted a different style of camper. Being as our son will be 16 in two weeks, he was tired of the bunkhouse layout. We've been extremely happy with our 2012 365SAQ except for the axle issue that was ultimately resolved by FR. Still a wonderful camper and will get to see it each time we go camping as my work partner's daughter bought it. We are at the campground now on our maiden voyage in our new Montana 3790RD. I get to pull the Sandpiper one more time tomorrow as I take her to have the generator removed and put into the new one. I've enjoyed reading, discussing and solving things with all of you. I will still check back in occasionally. Have a great day and happy camping!

Good luck with the new unit, be sure to post back when you get it.

It is likely the new one will have much in common with the Sandpiper.

I know you'll enjoy your Montana. Keystone makes really good trailers.

We traded in a Montana for our 365SAQ. Although our Montana was a 2006 35' TT with 2 slides. It had a great layout for a couple with no children, but in 2010 we began having children and 3 kids in 4 years caused us the need to buy something with bunks. Montana didn't make a camper like our 365's and still today, they have a model that is close (I look all the time) but still not quite as long.

Although we're happy with our 365, and thanks to you for sharing the issue with the axles, ours were replaced in spring of 2013, I miss our Montana. Quality could have changed since we bought our unit new in 2006, but I doubt it. The quality of our 2006 Montana was so much better then our FR product. I keep looking at the Jayco Northpoint 375BHFS. I like our 365, but I am constantly worried about what will break next. The extended warranty has more then paid for itself. It's sitting at the dealer right now to get a new inverter and to fix the galley gate valve which it's seen the dealer for each year since it was new. They can't get it to stop leaking so when I go to dump, and take the cap off, there's a gallon or two surprise behind there. I know it's kitchen water, but the guy behind me waiting to dump probably thinks I just got poo water all over the dump station. It's getting old.

Best of luck with your Montana, but I know you'll love it, and I know it will be a very solid unit for your family.

Thank you for the well wishes! I've enjoyed my time here except the occasional argument like we are all apt to get into. I'll post a few pics of the unit. Thanks again guys.
