Kinda surprised but looks like your slide is hydraulic. Check the fluid levels and for leaks then you will need to turn that pump manual to move the slides.

How would I get it to go out because when I pumped it with the jack handle it came in?

There must be a valve (small socket like thing on front of pump) that can turn one way - then the other - when you pump it is moving the fluid - and that valve would change the flow direction.

Can you read the label on the pump? It might give some clues to who built the slide system. If not factory.

Right when i opened the valve and pumped i was able to get the slide out to come back in all the way slowly. Because it was open alittle when we bought it. Dont know if there is a leak or something making it come back out but i will check in two days when we go up to camp in it.

That helped - found some possible answers for you...

The first link actually has a PDF file that has some good details on the operation and looks like there is some manual operation details.

Yes I found the PDF for the power gear earlier this evening that helped also. And for some reason the trailer doesn't have any stabilizing jacks? Will I need those if I want to use the slide out or should I just be ok with on jack under the slide out?

Slide-outs work well when the stabilizers are down and the unit is level... That being said - the slide-out will operate without stabilizers just fine (or it should). It is recommended to not put any stabilizers or jacks under the slide out. There are slide out stabilizers (I have a pair) and used them on our last travel trailer when we were setup for an entire summer (they were free)... But I was very careful to adjust them on a regular basis as the main trailer settled down.

Most travel trailers only have crank down/motorized stabilizers (not to be confused with jacks)... they just help stabilize the rocking motion. You could even use the old free-style hand stabilizers. These work as well as any others.

Ok great I found someone on Craigslist with four jack stands and two scissor jacks and will be getting those to stabilize it with.

For your wiring it looks like you are going to be needing a power dist panel (and possibly converter) for the 110v AC/12v DC distribution. Search on WFCO and Progressive Dynamics for two possible brands. (If the $$ permit use Progressive Dynamics)

Ok thanks and I'm guessing since the panel is gone even If I hook up a battery to the front nothing's going to work right?

That's correct - I would be very careful connecting a battery - trace out the battery wires FIRST.. Since they cut wires it is possible they are shorted together.

Campers do not follow typical Auto 12V systems... Red and Black are not typically used... Black is 12V+ and White is 12V- ... They follow house standards - Black is hot and White is neutral.

Start by tracing the battery wires and make sure they are not cut and shorting out.

Here is a link to my own electrical schematic - note I have a separate converter (12 V supply/Battery charger) and that is not always the case. Sometimes the converter is built-in to the bottom of the 110V/12V distribution panel. Depends a little bit on what you have room for in the whole where the old one was located. These diagrams are specific to the Cedar Creek but gives you an idea of the interaction between systems...

Jonathan,
Looking at that manual for the slide out - not sure they intended that hand pump to drive out the slide out... which would seem kinda stupid. Having said that, I would look at the wiring and see if you can figure out where the 12V+ line comes in from the battery...

Disconnect this 12V+ line (just because your wiring is funky) - using a set of jumper cables hook up the ground to the body of the pump, hook the 12V+ line to that terminal you disconnected the battery line. Then have someone operate the slide out switch and see if it will extend out.

Have a great weekend if you get out in it.

If this is what your pump looks like - I would hook that 12V+ Battery line to the copper strip on the solenoids. (Based on the wiring diagram)... Then you may be able to cycle the room in/out until you have the 12 volt system fixed up. I would purchase a fuse holder and put a 15 or 20 amp fuse in between the battery and pump. Would certainly be easier than pumping it by hand. The fluid reservoir uses Transmission fluid so might want to bring some with you just in case it is low.

Some used pumps in case you have the need:
