Info?

Our 355 is back @ dealer for more repairs ( door adjustment, water heater noise). One big problem is underbelly sag. No water to be found (whew!!). Sagging. 6" in center front, and at least 4" in center rear. Dealer called me, said nothing they could do. Told him unacceptable, you can see wires between frame and belly pan. Said he'd call FR and see what they recommend. Question to y'all is, has anyone experienced this, and what was fix??
Only 4 nights camping, under 300 miles(by us).

Maybe you need more screws and washers closer together? Add a screw/washer to some of the cross-members in the middle?

Don't be to down, this is a learning curve for owners of new RV's and what we need to do as owners. There are just some things we will need to take care of ourselves to be happy.

I am not trying to disappoint you right off the get-go. Try not to get to hung up on the warranty and get the big things fixed.

You can always go to Goshen and they will fix lots of little things for you while you camp and have a good time!!

Hope things go well for you.

BTW I went through all of this and have learned that just like my house, there will be things to fix all of the time. I find fixing some of them while camping is fun! JMO!

Update;
Dealer said they're waiting on FR to make a decision on how to repair. No one else had this problem before?

Just got off the phone w/dealer. Everything fixed except sagging underbelly. They looked at 3 more Pipers, and they're sagging also. Waiting on a response from FR. Cannot believe these are the only ones w/this problem.
Thanks Lynkage!

*COUGH* Hold on pardner!

A *NEW* rig with a sagging underbelly and exposed wiring?

One way or another I would get this fixed - and not a DIY job either! My guess is, since it is similar damage to all the same units on the lot it is either 1) Damage done during transportation & delivery 2) Some sort of Factory/manufacturing defect.

Did you notice this during your PDI?

Edit: Goshen would be a option but it is 3 months away

Sounds like a real issue. Not sure the rational behind, "They looked at 3 more Pipers, and they're sagging also". Other than translates to: holy cow batman, how on god's good green earth can we fix this mess.

Wring exposed due to the sag. Ever drive next to a rig being pulled in a downpour and see the water turbulance kicked up. Water everwhere! FR should look into these three and ask other dealers to check their stock to see whats going on. Good luck.

Do you have a picture of the problem? I wouldn't mind comparing for peace of mind on my end.

No pics, sorry. We have a short trip planned this wknd. I'll walkthrough in A.M.
If everything else is good, we'll take it for the wknd, and I'll try to post pics.
No sagging when we took delivery.
Dealer looked at three other campers to compare. He said,"it's an industry wide problem. Forest River the made underbelly bigger".
Maybe he's just blowing smoke, I'll look at the other sandpipers too.
But they'll fix it. He said as soon as FR comes through with approval. ???

Mine came loose on the way home from the dealer. Got to the storage lot and I was dragging half of it behind me. Took 7 weeks to get the material from Forest River. I used several 2x2's to put it back on until the dealer got the parts. They left them in there as extra support. I don't know why they don't do this at the factory.

Dave, have you been in contact with the Sandpiper warranty rep on this? It might help to reach out directly.
