LED Brake lights

Just wondering if anyone has had to change the rear brake light assembly on a Sandpiper. Mine, and I assume all newer units, has the 11 light led strip about 16 inches by 1 & 3/8.
I thought I could pop this thing out of the chrome frame and change led bulbs, but after I finally got it out, it is factory sealed.
So, I have ordered two new lights from Amazon that are 17 inches encased in chrome frame to replace mine.
I see I have not said what my problem is, well.. 5 of the 11 bulbs on the right fixture do not light. Use to, but no more. I have only used this trailer twice, so I am also wondering.. do LED lights give more trouble??

LED's reliable?

technically, LED"s are more reliable than incandescent, but they are more finicky about voltage and current, and wiring. I would suspect that somethings amiss in the wiring of the components.

sounds like you're on the right path to replace the whole unit. but darn, it's a lot more expensive than an LED.

Thanks to both of you for the responses.
Short life span or electrical issue. Will see what happens after the replacements are installed.
