Hi!

I found bulges on my Trailmasters so I went with Michelin XPS ribs. The only regret I have is that I did not go with bead balancing. The tires are terrific. With the Trailmaster the trailer felt like it was wallowing.

XPS comes in the the size you want. I have had them for 3 years now.

No..Only wheels that are 110 psi rated. You can find out by the stamping on the back of the wheel. Lots of them are rated for that. If they are rated for that, you have to have metal valve stems as rubber ones are only rated for 80 psi. If you need new wheels try here Tredit Tire - Tires and Wheels for RVs and Trailers They are very affordable. Also take a look at these newer tires that are getting great reviews. They are still not made here but lots of people are enjoying them Sailun Commercial Truck Tires: S637 Premium Regional All Position They are cheaper than Michelin, Goodyear or Bridgestone Duravis' tires, but gaining popularity. I have no personal experience with them, only what I see in the forums.

I have also went with a g rated tire although not the good years like I wanted to. I we in a bind and put on what they had in stock. They are Chinese but hoping the extra rating will hold up. I have the 7k axles and my wheels are rated for 110psi so was not an issue.

Have 6 lug axles so I'm sure they are 6k.
Have to pull off my rim to see the tire pressure limit I guess.
The drum brakes block everything.
And still waiting for rv and insurance settle on what's going to be repaired or what ever is taking so long

Hi hrlyguy, been a while since we chatted. Regarding your post about ST vs LT tires. I replaced the ST Duros that came on my 2010 345 RET a cpl months ago in prep for our trip out west that got canceled...bahwah. I replaced them with Power King STR Towmax tires because my tire guy (bought tires from him for 30 years) highly recommended them. He also has a large towing business and has seen good service from them on his own trailers/equipment as well as customers. He said nothing was wrong with Goodyear Marathons or Maxiss...but he just preferred Towmax by Power King. He's never lead me astray before, so I took his advice this time too. (Power King Towmax STR Tires | The New Standard in Premium Trailer Tires)

I did not have a blow out, but I had a 2 knots come on the back driver side tire on 2 different Duro tires. With that said, I knew that my trailer was not level when hooked up to my 2011 2500HD Dmax (too high in the front). I came across an NC DMV officer who was kind enough to come to my home and do a very in depth weighing of my FW and TV. I was not surprised to see that I was killing the back axle/tires with the front just a few inches higher. Wow, what a huge difference a cpl of inches makes on the axle weight and lowering the hitch head a cpl of inches brought the axle weights closer together.

I said all that to say, weigh your TV and FW to see how the weight is distributed on your axles before you take a trip with new tires.

When it comes to tires my two cents is trail tires are not safe a passenger cars. Not legal to put on a car or truck and LT tires have to be to government standards. The hole LT tires are not made to handle that kind of side loads is not true, trucks with plows or truck campers at road speeds encounter very high loads. Well my opinion.

Thumbs up

We blew to firestone st tires in 6 weeks. Less than one year and less than 5k miles on the rig. At the FROG rally in Goshen this year damage to both sides of the rig was on the list for repair. Plant manager of plant 3 was there to check on all repair items on the list and looked at the remaining tires and said besides checking axle alinement will give you five new DK rv only tires and new steel rims. (Nitrogen filled tires)
Besides all other repairs FR did and to give us new tires and rims, this is customer service above and beyond anything we have encountered from any company or service provider.
We are FR owners for the rest of our traveling days.
