It dropped the rear of the truck 1.25" and it does appear to be sagging in the rear. From what I have seen the F450's all sit pretty level when they are unloaded and this is the result of it. I will tow it a few more times to see if I want to put airbags on it, but after pulling it today it's not real high on my list of things to do. The pic of the camper behind the 2500 is with airbags and inflated to either 45 or 50lbs of air in them so that did assist in it looking more level. This camper dropped the 2500 a little over 2" when it was hooked with no air in the bags.

Ok I have a 2013 6.7 F350 SRW with a 14 ROK ordered. It has a pin weight slightly north of 2400lbs. Are you guys saying I should put air bags on? If so what do they cost and can they be installed by me, I'm pretty mech inclined, or have them installed? I've been told the 350 could pull two of these things but that was dealer talk!

I like the addition of airbags due to taking some of the jolt out of the interstates, leveling the truck so the headlights are aimed correctly at night and with having on onboard system, I have air anywhere the truck is. As far as you needing them, that is everyone's preference. I like my truck and trailer to sit perfectly level, so yes I needed them and I have a dually. It is 4WD by the way, 2WD may not need them to sit level. My pin weight is around 3100 pounds on my truck. You can install them yourself in about 3-4 hours with no problem. They reduce suspension fatigue on the trucks as well. I won't ever tow heavy again without them. Either Firestone or Airlift have very good bags. I just have Firestone because they were on sale at the time. Also. keep in mind, you pin weight will go up when you load it. Don't just go by the manufacturers numbers!

Update time!
Yesterday I made it over to my dealer and picked up the camper with its shiny new wheels, tires, and axles. While it was there they adjusted the bedroom slide so it now goes in and out without sounding like you stepped on a cats tail They also fixed some wood trim in the bunk area for me. One bonus is that they let me keep my old (good) wheels and tires that I had purchased so I can throw those guys on Craigslist to make some $$ towards a decent set of new tires
Here is a pic of the new wheels and tires. Wheels are Sumec wheels, they have bolt in valve stems and are good to 200PSI. The tires are Westlake Super ST's in load range E, they will have to do for now until I can throw some better tires at it. I checked a picture I took yesterday and luckily I was able to make out the DOT date code. The tire I got a closeup pic of shows a date of 3813 (mid to late September) and I'm ok with that.

They did send new stickers and the only thing I don't like is the dealer just put them on top of the other ones and it makes it look weird.

You can see in that picture that the cargo weight has increased drastically. Before the yellow sticker said cargo should not exceed 1219lbs, now I'm up to 2659lbs...much better. The GVWR went from 14,060 to 15,500 as well and that was expected.

Thanks Monty, we have several trips coming up and will get some miles under it. We are excited to get it out and use it finally.

Chiro - I am still pondering on the air bags. I think the next couple trips will let me know if I need them or not.

I love my airbags and onboard air system. They help keep the rig level, although it didn't need much help in that regard. The headlights are like driving normally, but I love having air to air up floats, tires etc wherever the truck is. I also like the fact that I can adjust on the fly and take some of the 'jolt' out of some of the interstate expansion joints.

Hey guys

What does everyone have for pin boxes? I have a SRW F350 Long Bed with no airbags. I have a 2013 365saq. I find the ride very nice towing. I do have the Trail Air Rotoflex pin box which was installed at the factory. Although not a higher dollar air bag box it does the job well. My good friend, and very experienced 5th wheel tower, rode with me on the 450 mile round trip to my dealer to get my axles done recently and commented on how smooth the tow was and how you'd barely know the camper was back there. He has a 3500 single with Firestone bags installed for his 40' 5er with a standard pin box. I have no doubt the bags would make things even better again but just curious about the pin boxes.

I have the Trail Air Rotoflex on mine as well and I think it rides pretty good. Not sure if its the pinbox or not, but I'm sure it can't hurt.

I'm not sure if it's a Ford thing or not, but I really didn't care for the air bags on my '11 2500 Chevy. I thought the ride was bouncy and anything more than 35 pounds would raise it and make the ride harsh. They did help some on the hard bounce of a bridge approach, but under normal driving conditions I didn't care for them. I definitely don't need them on the 3500. Neither truck was squatted in the rear when hooked up, both dropped less than 2".
