Progressive 50AMP EMS

Anyone installed one of these? Read a lot of great things about it. Just looking to see if anyone put one in a sandpiper. Thanks.

They work great for any RV. I've had mine over 2 years. Has saved me a few times from potential major damage.

I installed one in my Columbus along with a remote display, real simple install as long as you know what you are doing. I would not be without one.

I put one in my 2016 376BHOK. I drilled two holes in the wall below the cabinet and ran the original supply line in one hole (and to the input of the EMS) and a new section of cable (from the output of EMS) out the other hole. The new section of cable goes into the panel box. This puts the EMS in an accessible cabinet sitting on the floor. It is back away from the cabinet door enough that it doesn't really interfere with our storage needs, and allows easy access of it ever gives any problem.

I haven't mounted the remote display yet, just have it tied to the EMS.

Can you post a pic please. I think we have the same setup inside where the breaker box is. Thank you.

Yes. I will try to get out there later and snap a picture. Im a little "laid up" right now after an unsuccessful attempt to come down the stairs from the bedroom to the living room last night (in the camper). Full details in the "What did you do to your Camper today?" thread.

Alcohol was not a factor... But clumsiness sure was! Doh!

Just read your post. Wow! Hope your ribs are alright. Those steps are a bit tricky!

I did that too. I was in my socks on the slippery wood stairs.

Pics below. I misspoke on the placement. I have it at the very front, but we use a wire rack over it so it doesn't interfere with storage. I forgot that I ended up that way instead of pushing it to the back.

The cable coming into the right of the EMS is the original cable that went into the panel. I disconnected it and ran it through the hole and into the EMS.

The cable coming out of the left is a 6' long cable I bought from Lowes. It goes through the second hole and back to the panel. I had grommets in the holes, but looks like they have worked loose. I guess because I never actually attached the EMS and it has shifted slightly. Need to do that and put the grommets back.

The picture below shows the setup and its proximity to the panel.

I decided to not mount it behind the panel just in case it ever cause any problems. I could easily access it to troubleshoot. Getting in behind that panel is a chore!
