Rear Pull Down Mattress "Terrible"

I was trying to get Queen sheets on the rear mattress last night and it barely fits - which made the corners curl up like it must just be a sheet of foam.

Has anyone replaced the stock one with a better mattress?? Any suggestions??

Is it a full queen or a camper queen? The camper queens are shorter than a full queen. I replaced my full queen mattress in my rig with a mattress from here http://www.sleepbetterstore.com for $500.

I got the 3-Series Sleep System and topped it with a memory foam topper from Sam's.

But then again I don't have a "pull down" mattress, so I don't know exactly what would work in your situation.

WOW!! $500 - I better hold off - the main bed in the sleeper is good - at least for camping but I will have to do something about the rear toy hauler area pull down sleeper - I guess.

Some people like the beds that come with the travel trailers. I have never been satisfied. Our 1st 5er had a camper queen that was like sleeping on cloth covered springs. I swapped it out with the pillow-top double in our guest room (I let any guests sleep in the trailer if they wanted a good bed). The one that came with our current trailer wasn't much better. I ended up giving it away withen the 1st week we had it and bought our current mattress off the Internet. I think $500 is pretty good for a good quality mattress. I've got a genuine SleepNumber in the house and it cost a heck of a lot more then the bed in my rig which sleeps just as good. I figure I spend 1/3 of my life in bed and I'm going to be comfortable. If I'd have known about this bed before I bought my SleepNumber I would have bought it instead. The reason I have a 5th wheel travel trailer is to be comfortable while I travel. I'm not scrimping on a bed.

Actually, on every trailer I've bought, the first thing I do is get the dealer to swap the matress for one from a high-end RV... they're generally much better.

On a replacement, some folks have been saying nice things about the bed-in-a- box thingies that are on the market now...

Our neighbour just replaced his queen size in his RV with one and loves it.
