I leave mine in also. I have 4 gc batteries. I have a voltage meter with low voltage alarm. I set the alarm at 12.2 volts which is 60%. Once the alarm goes off I then plug in my 3 stage convertor until it drops to float charge. The batteries last about 2 months between charges.
