Sandpiper 365saq door damage

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up who owns the 365saq. We took our 2012 sandpiper 365saq camping this weekend for the first time. I have had the slides in and out several times here at the house and I knew that the door going into the bunk room had to be closed to avoid it hitting the bunk room slides. I shut the door slid all the slides in and left for the lake. When we got to the lake I was getting everything level and ready using the remote. I slid all the slides out without looking inside assuming all the doors were still shut. When we went inside the door going into the bunk room had the door knob ripped off and the trim on the slide was tore off. Plus I turned the water on before going inside and during the trip the kitchen faucet had turned on. So when we went inside not only was the door knob gone the kitchen was getting flooded because we had the sink covers on. Other than those two problems we love the camper and know now what to watch out for.

I have two doors on my entertainment center that I have to check before I open my slides too.

New 365SAQ owner here...working diligently at making sure my slide in/slide out process becomes habitual...for these reasons. Thanks for sharing!

Last thing we do is make sure all cabinet doors are latched, water pump off, faucets drained and then after I check, the DW checks and we put the slides in. When setting up, we check and all cabinet doors are still shut before running slides out. Didn't one time and had a cabinet door on the floor as a result. Door had never come open before, but some how, some way it came open. After repairing, in 3 yrs, it never came open again. Conclusion? We both missed making sure it was closed.

Had the exact same thing happen, only ours happened when we brought it home from the dealer. The door was never latching properly, make sure when you get a new door to pull on it to make sure it won't come open when latched. By the way the dealer did give a new door and hardware. Good luck Todd

We have had a tear down check list for 7 years. Its laminated and is mounted on the inside of the cupboard door by the exit door.
The cupboard door doesn't get shut till its completed.

Such things as
Antenna down
Wp off
Doors shut
Antenna booster off
Etc etc

F1100TURBO: We are about to receive our 2013 Sandpiper 365, though we are excited, I am a newbie and would love it if you could share your high level checklist.

Thanks
Rick

Just got home from our first night out in our new 365!!! Can't wait to go back out! Big step up from the 95 Jayco! One thing I noticed this weekend that I don't care for is the fact that no matter what you do, you can't see the drivers side rear slide while you're operating it. We used the 'open the window over the couch and yell' technique, which is effective, but a pain. Thanks for all the good advice!! Happy campin!!!!!

We're towing ours with an '06 Ford F350 SRW....overload springs and sway bars came on it from the factory and I air-bagged it before purchasing our 365 in April. So far, it tows pretty good!

Walkie talkies! No yelling and they are useful for staying touch around the campground, on hikes too.
