Isn't the hitch under the nose? Why would the hitch stick out 3 ft from the front of a 5th wheel? Just curious as I just moved 16 ton of rock today preparing my site for my 381rbok which unfortunately is still a month from delivery and I assumed the 43' length was nose to bumper.

Would like to see where the USDOT limit came from. Is that for fifth wheels, TT or both?

Haven't measured it myself. I'm only regurgitating what the State told me when I registered it. Mine has been in the shop for warranty work for about 3 weeks. As soon as I get it back I'll measure it. My dealer and FR both say 42'6" and looking at pics online the hitch does not stick out past the nose. Maybe the State considers where the hitch attaches to the 5er as the starting point? If that's the case I can see it being 39'.....

Sandpipers website / literature was correct for my 376BHOK. I measured from cap to ladder and it was what FR said. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head.
