slight bow in New 365saq awning

Picked up our new 365saq on 4/19. Had demo in bay of rv dealer service garage so we did not notice the 3/4" downward bow in the awning. Our last two rigs awnings were arrow straight. Is this a non issue in your opinions and normal to have wobble.

Also, with these remote control awnings has anyone ever added the center storage support. Especially for towing.

I have a 2012 365 SAQ and after I read your post and a few others, I went out and looked at my own. It is probably not as straight as an arrow, but it is fairly strairght. I live in TN and have traveled to Myrtle Beach and a few other places fairly local, have not had any issues at this time.

If you feel like a little (OK, maybe a lot) mod time with your new camper; the Mega X57 might be what you need. It looks like it will straighten your bow and provide center support at the same time.

Long awning benefit from a center support. If you think it sags sitting still you should see the center movement going down a highway. Youroo!!

I have a 2012 365 saq and have a slight bow also. My last camper had the same size awning and it also had a bow. Should not be a big deal!!

I put a center awning support on my 355 and my 365 before they ever left the dealer. Both dealers I use in my area say that any awning over 16 feet in length should an awning support.

I have a bow in my awning bar as well (power awning). Reached out to Dometic last week and this was their response

"According to the service manual roller will deflect between 1 to 5 inches.

If the roller is bent it will flop when opening and closing.

Open and close the awning and if it rolls smooth the bend you are seeing is standard deflection.

Awnings 22 foot and larger require the tension rafter awnings less than 22 foot the tension rafter is an option.

The main question is does the unit flop when rolling up and down, if so your service center needs to look at the awning."
