Tv elevator top mount question

We have a 2017 389rd with the rear tv that comes out of the cabinet.
Our top piece of cabinet is not attached it just lays up there.

Is that how everyone elses is? If not can someone show a picture of there mounting system?

Ours is screwed to a bracket that runs the length of the tv from underneath. Hard to get a picture but I will try later today.

Mine just sits on the TV. You can just lift right off.

Ours has an "L" shaped bracket that fits into the lift at the top. It is not screwed into the lift and the top board including the bracket just lifts off. 2017 Cedar Creek 36 CKTS.

My counter top portion is screwed to a bracket which is in turn bolted to the lift arm that comes up out of the cabinet.

one of the reasons for the loose top is for safety you could run the tv down and at the very least pinch a finger or even more damage. I have built custom furniture with lift units and I always use a friction catch to hold the top in place so it can release if anything gets in the way. or you can use a hinge that pivots the top to the back of the tv when raising.

Our 'flap' is attached to the counter top with a full length piano hinge. The top of the rail system that holds the TV pushes it open when raising the TV. Automatically (gravity) closes when the TV goes back down. Works well!
