Under the 5th wheel

Question, on a recent trip to Colorado and back to Seattle area, I noticed the fiberglass under the 5th wheel sagging , When I looked at it closer I found that 5 out of the 12 screws was broken and the others where loose.. Has any one else had this problem ??? the only thing I could think of is that the wind caught it by the 5th wheel plate and loosened those first, then the wind did more with the fiberglass whipping up and down ..... anyone have a Idea ????? I redrilled the holes and installed new Screws

Sounds like they didn't do a good job in the Quality Control area when it came off the line. All of the screws may not have been tight thus led to the problem you found. Could just be a fluke. Just watch it and see if it does it again. I don't think it will.

This can also be caused by driving during a heavy rain. The water can get in there and if the drain is not in the right place the accumulation of water can actually pull the cover down and after a while, completely off.
