2011 Sierra 356RL & Winegard TRAV'LER

Anyone hooked up the Winegard TRAV'LER to the 5th wheel? If so how do you have it hooked up ? I want both TV's inside hooked up , I have one in the living area on the rear and one in the bedroom in the front of the trailer . I have modified the one in the bedroom with a HDMI splitter and and ran it to the cargo bay so I can have SAT TV outside ( works great BTW) . I got a Direct TV RF remote and I can control the box in the bedroom from outside .

We use our trailer for tailgating at football games so a SAT is a must . I have used a dish and Tripod for the last 2 years but I'm tired of messing with that setup.

I have dish network, and a regular dish right now. I carry a winegard carryout with me as well. With the carryout i only hook up on tv as they can only track one satellite at a time. So whatever you ate watching on the main tv, the other tv has to be watching a channel on the same satellite. IMO i would use the regular disb if you are going to be in a spot for any length of time as i have all 4 tvs hooked up. If travelling or weekend excursion, i use the winegard.

I used the carry out this weekend as well.
Didn't like it as much as just taking my dish.

The carry out only does SD on direct TV , so thats not a option for me , I must have HD. So that means setup the tripod or get the Winegard TRAV'LER slimline for HD .

I just purchased the SK-3005 TRAV'LER DIRECTV Slimline for 1,272.88 with free shipping from amazon . Thats the best deal I have seen on this , CW was 1599.99 . I will have this installed at a local RV super center in the next few weeks . Thanks for all the great feedback !!

Another reason I dislike direct tv.

If you have an a android phone get "satellite ar" app .
Uses your camera on your phone to see the satellites in the sky . Then you know where you have to be to get signal.

Smoo,

I think your roof might be overweight, i mean between 3 A/Cs and a satellite. You get up there to clean it and you might fall through :roflback:
