Aqua man we r the same way!!! We like it cool, 80 is to hot for us to, 72-74 here is what we like, we can maintain that with two a/c but if no shade or the wind is howling then the third on turns on.

We moved to Texas from Maine. I agree 80 is warm but when it's almost 100 outside 80 feels pretty good. We have to pay our electric and I think if we made it a "meat locker" we would have a heck of a electric bill. One other thing I did was remove the wall in the front cap and insulated it. If you pull out the shelfs in the middle you will find like me there is no insulation in there.

We should take our shelves out and do that too, gets pretty cold in the winter up there for a washing machine, thought about insulating the water lines
