I've not had any problems like that on mine. I know that front cap flexes a good bit, but not sure why your your caulking keepers breaking the seal. Maybe some type of residue on the trim is keeping the caulk from adhering good? Definitely something to get fixed ASAP.

Common 5th wheel issue on several brands is pin box flex - I suspect you'll find this in your case. Do you travel very beat up highways or take the unit down gravel roads? An upgraded pin box can help alleviate some but not all of this.

I bought a air bourn 5th pin box this year. Still about the same as before. We live in Maine so the roads are not the best but I try to stay off the bad ones. And no dirt roads either. Thanks for the info

Have the dealer inspect your unit and offer an opinion on cause. Do you notice alot of pin box settling when transferring weight from the front jacks to the pin box and hitch during hookup?

I have about 3/8 inch of movement. I'm dropping the unit off at the dealer tomorrow. For them to look at it and take care of some other problems as well.

That's not a lot of movement, so that's good news.

I hope its nothing serious I would hate to loose out on the rest of our already short camping season. If its common there must be a fix. I don't think I should have to reseal it that often. I could live with once maybe twice a year. By a year we camp from March-October. We use it a lot but mostly short trips maybe 1500-2000 miles a season.

It may be an old or bad batch of calling that does not have any flex. There is a brand of caulk that they sell down here in Louisiana they sell it at roofing and sheet metal places its called NP1 very good call and it stays very flexible and it comes in white PM me if you can't find it and ill try to get you some

So I decided to look into it my self. I took the molding off found water had been leaking in there and rusting some of the screws and found the factory striped 4 when installing the molding. So I put in new screws and resealed. It better buy still flexes a good amount. I also found a piece of the webbing flexing up. You can see where it was once attached. The unit is going back to the dealer tomorrow.
