Black tank odor

I have a 365SAQ with the rear 1/2 bath. Just recently i have experienced a terrible sewage smell. I tried jetting out the tanks with hot and cold water. I also filled and emptied a few times. The smell seems to be coming from the rear bath. The toilet holds water.

It seems to happen when the tank is empty. I used AquaChem liquid to kill the smell and had been using other brand chemicals to break down the stuff in the holding tank.

Some of my camping friends thought vent isn't working. But when I fill the tank some the smell seems to go away. Next step is to wand out the tank thinking the jets are not cleaning the tank that good.

Anyone have an option?

One additional thing... The entire coach smells. But strongest in the rear bedroom.

Make sure there is water in all the drains P-traps. Water will evaporate and can be pulled out of the traps when emptying the black tank. Also make sure vent fans are off when flushing toilet.

Do you have a vent under the sink in the rear bath? Those vents tend to wear out and you can get a rotten egg smell from that even though it is a grey tank. Click image for larger version

If you do have one of those vents, spin it off and tape a plastic sandwich bag over it so its sealed and see if the smell goes away.

Thanks for the thoughts. I will look into the traps and vent pipe this weekend.
