Hi there! I'm looking for my first 5th wheel trailer, and strongly considering the 2017 Forest River Sierra 381RBOK. I'd be grateful for any comments about this model or about Forest River products in general, particularly as they relate to cold (below freezing) weather.

Thanks!
I've got that in a 2016 Sandpiper. I like it but have had a bunch of warranty repairs that have needed to be done. A/C is a major problem. Cold weather in Texas is hardly ever below freezing but I can tell you that the furnace gets it hotter than the blazes of HELL!! That's one thing that does work well in that unit. Well that is until you run out of propane, but that was my fault.

2016 Sandpiper 381RBOK with an extremely CRAPPY A/C!!!
We ordered a 2017 FR 343RSOK in April, took delivery in June of this year. We have only been able to camp on two different occasions because of the A/C issue mentioned above. We live in the south and without air it would be extremely uncomfortable. I think one of the biggest decisions is what dealer to use. If you can't trust your dealer you are in for a rough road regardless of brand. If you do decide on any FR make your dealer do all of the recall work on the AC unit's before you take delivery of the unit. If they won't do that then look for a different dealer. Overall we love our Sierra and have had a great time when we have been able to use it. Good luck.
