Fan over stove

Can anyone tell me anything about the fan over the stove in the 387MKOK, itís way too high to reach, is there a purpose for it that I am unaware of. I canít see getting a step stool to open it unless In case of burning something on the stove. Really has me puzzled.

In our Sierra destination trailer we have a fantastic van in the roof vent over the stove. It's controlled by a wall switch.

If it's just a hand crank vent then yes you will need to be very tall or use a step stool to open it. These vents are great for storage ventilation or times when you don't need heat or AC but not very convenient. We use the fantastic fan for cooking ventilation since the outside range vent is too high outside to reach without a ladder and bangs non stop in the wind when it's open.

Why do you say ďall of a suddenĒ? He and his software have been here more than a year.
