Installing high pressure ball valves to control slides.

I have a 2015 Sierra 365saq, and love the unit. However I do not like that I cannot control the slides individually. I have been thinking about adding a high pressure ball valve to control one of the slides manually. Does anybody have any experience with that.

It would be a ton of work to add it now. Right now the lines basically make a big loop. In order to control each slide independently you would need to run lines to each slide and back to the pump.

Trying to control the outdoor kitchen slide. When parked at my home I have to leave the 5th wheel in my driveway if I want access to the rv. I have area on the side of my home where I parked my last rv, but I did not have any slides on the entry side of my older unit. If I could keep the outdoor kitchen slide in this would help me greatly.

You could possibly put a bypass valve on this cylinder and keep it from extending. It would require removing or cutting into the bottom covering and running hydraulic hoses to an area where you could install the valve, under the slide possibly. Keeping one from going out is easier than having ONLY one go out.

Check that you don't have the thumb wheels already installed that allow you to lock out any particular slide or more than one. I'm sure you have checked but I thought the 2015's all had them. Our friends got their new 371rebh just before Christmas and it has that feature.

Doesn't have the thumb wheels. I wonder how hard it would be to install them? Anyone have any experience doing that?

Couldn't you just simply physically lock the one slide in place (bolt through the track or something?) so the fluid/pressure would move on to the next slide in line...same as if the kitchen slide were the first to fully extend? Seems like you could test this fairly easily. If effective, this would eliminate the need to tap into the hydraulic lines.


When shopping for trailers, individually activated slides was on my wanted list....this usually means they're electric though...NO idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

If you have someone hold against the kitchen slide you can keep it from coming out till last. I've done it. Or put something against it to keep it in.😀

I just found out the Ultimate package option on the Sandpiper has Hydraulic Slide Selector Switches on it. Can't wait till I get mine.

Are you sure there isn't a manifold near the hyd res, and motor that will allow to control which slide(s) are operated? My 2015 Sierra 371REHB has a manifold with a thumb screw for each slide that I can open or close to control which slides open.
