Smile New Sierra

My wife and I just picked up our new 355RE Saturday and we could not be any happier with it so far. But MAN it sure did get bigger when we got it away from the lot. Does anyone else have this model yet? If so what has your experience been with it so far. Our first trip with it is in 3 weeks so we are busy filling it up. We previously had a 32 foot travel trailer so this is a very big step up for us.

to the Forum. That's a great looking floorplan you picked out. Yeah, those rigs don't look that large sitting next to others of the same size on the lot...and then you get on the road with it. Don't worry you'll adjust to the new length in no time. Congrats on the new rig.

to the forum. Last year we were un the same boat as you, traded in a 35' TT for a 365SAQ and man did it look massive when we left. You will get used to it and before you know it, you will be even more confident towing it without as much TT crosswind when the big rigs pass you. Just ease into it and you will be fine

I want from a 15' kayak trailer on a lake side trail to a 19' pop-up to a 42' fifth wheel. I can feel your pain!

And here I thought our 35.9' Sierra 323FK tt looked BIG originally hooked up to my F350 Dually! first time I saw it in the bay it looked huge, then hooked up to my truck it dwarfed it!

I understand about dwarfing the truck. We had a 2012 Chevy 2500 6.0 that i thought would be able to tow the sierra but the more i read and thought about it i realized that was not going to work so friday the day before we picked our new sierra we picked up our new Ram 2500 with a cummins. So the entire day was a learning experience for us. This is our first diesal truck and first fith wheel. Now i read more then ever so i dont make any mistakes and the wife hates that. But i would hate to look foolish trying to use this r/v and truck.

Congrats! Yep, been there done that. I have the 8.1L Chevy in my sig that just couldn't pull the 355 or 365 on the interstates. So that is why I have the Ford diesel in my sig as well! Still love both HUGE trucks, but look tiny in front of teh camper!

Congratulations on your purchase! Excellent floorplan as well. What options did you go with? We are anxiously awaiting ours to come.

Thank you we are very happy with it so far. We didnt order this unit we got lucky and found that the local dealer had one coming in 3 days after we saw the Sandpiper version at the local rv show. He ordered it with almost all the options except for the leveling system. I did notice that they added led awning lights and the tail lights are leds now. I guess it was a mid year change because the Sierras and Sandpipers we saw at the show did not those lights. I hope you enjoy yours when it comes in as much as we are enjoying ours in the yard so far. We have our first trip in 2 weeks.

Slide out order of opening?

I am in the process of buying this unit and was wondering the order of the slides going out? I am worried the dinette slide will open before all the rest are open as I will have the unit parked beside my house. This would be a deal breaker. We have to be able to load this up on the side of the house with the dinette slide closed and the rest open. Thanks, Adam.

My 2013 starts with main slide, only comes out about a foot, then master bedroom, then the bunkhouse slides, then the rest of the dinette slide

The slides go out in this order for me. The bedroom, kitchen, living room, then dining room. I then let out the bathroom slide. The bathroom slide is electric while the rest are hydraulic therefore they operate off seperate switches. I guess you could release the switch after the living room slide is extended before the dining slide extends to slove your problem of loading. Dont see where it would do any harm. If you have anymore questions just send me a pm. My wife and i could not be happier with ours.
