Sierra 365SAQ - Fridge Storage Door
Last week I saw a post about the newer Sierras do not have the refrigerator on its own door and now put them in the outside kitchen. The post was asking if anyone had experience buying the door and cutting it in where the kitchen sink is. There is "dead space" under the kitchen counter which was formerly used for fridge. I wondered how that ended. Did you find the door, install, any other modifications (i.e. get electricity to the area, etc.). I think its a great idea and I may take to the dealer about it.

WOW! You did a nice job! That is exactly what I was asking about.
How gut-wrenching was it to cut into the sidewall? It appears to be a fairly straight forward install.
Did you need to run electric there? Were touable to tap into an existing circuit? Where did you buy the door? I would be concerned about leaks but if it's a factory door it should be fine?
Any details you can provide is most appreciated. I am very interested in doing this.
How did you determine the exact location for cutting the door so you weren't cutting into the bathroom or too far right in the kitchen?

It took a couple beers to get the courage up to make that first cut, but no guts, no glory! There is electric already there, I just installed a box and outlet. The thing to do, is to cut the bottom out first, and cut through the lower cross member so that you are level with the floor. Then set the door in place, trace the outline, and cut the rest of the hole. As for location, I simply went from the middle of the window straight down, drilled a hole about 2"up from skirt and started cutting out and down.
I got my door from the factory techs in Goshen, cost = $0.00. As for leaks, I ran a strip of putty around perimeter of the door, clamped and screwed it in place, them finished off with white ProSeal. I'm going to finish off the inside this spring, right now it's open with a small backstop to hold the fridge in place.

LOL about the beer. I can imagine sitting having a few looking at the door then getting the courage... GO FOR IT!
Do you know the factory techs or can you let me know who I could call? I would need to pay for shipping. I clearly want the factory door! I could call FR direct and inquire.
Great tip to go from middle of window

It made me nervous, hence the liquid courage. I swear, I sat in a chair with all the tools out and stared at it for at least 2 beers, before I got the nerve up.

Aqua, we have the before, during and after photos. But where is the photo of you in said chair? Need to see the beer and contemplative look prior to making the cut!!

I already had my game plan down. All I needed was the courage to get started, and it was only 5 minutes! Once you drill the hole and start sawing, there's no turning back.

We haven't yet, but I've always wanted to. We are pretty booked up this year as far as extended trips, but I may have to put that on my list for next year.

Great JOB! I am completely envious, I want to do this too.
Could you let me know how you got the door as well? Thanks!
I have the same unit, I wish they had kept the location there instead of moving.

I had also asked about this awhile back. I have to got around to doing this yet last summer was just to busy to starting chopping up the trailer. Plan to still get is done this year. I don't mind the fridge being in the camp kitchen but why take the door out? Leave it there even with all the space there still isn't enough outside storage.
