Yes. It pivots out when the awning comes out and catches the awning as it rolls up. You can get it through most camper dealers. There is another version out there that is non painted aluminum. I just liked the painted ones better. Also make sure when you attach it, use stainless screws or rivets so the bolts don't streak the side of the camper.

Cool. Thanks. Yes, I've since looked it up on PPL and a few others. Good deal!

Our Coachmen Leprechaun has the Dometic power awning that is bowing and not rolling up correctly, BUT Also has the middle support. We've tried all the fixes I've found here in threads (pulling the awning straight on roller, putting a rivet in the ends to keep it straight, etc.) but it still rolls up slightly crooked (to the back of the RV), has wrinkles and bows ever so slightly.

Hi again. I bought the center support. Did you find it necessary to use the backing plate or did you just put it on anyway? The one I got is Dometic. Similar. Says you can use without the backing plate if it anchors well or use the backing plate if you feel the 2 lags haven't grabbed enough. Just curious. Will put on at the weekend. Thanks!

I used the backing plate as you can see here. It just looked like the support was a little more centered under the tube. It's not that thick but I put it on anyway.
